Event Description

Cranky UX pro Dan Willis reprises his popular and raucous session from Interaction10:

Combine the competitive adrenaline of Pictionary (the “quick-draw classic”) with the oh-so-trendy, but still deeply meaningful practice of visual thinking for 40 minutes of educational fun. Contestants will each get a marker, a complex problem to communicate visually, and up to five minutes at a drawing pad where raucous, possibly drunk, non-drawing participants will yell out guesses.

This could be your chance to try out one of the century’s most talked-about tools (assistance will be provided) and for experienced visual thinkers, it’s a chance to test your skills against the best.

So come take part in the practical application of visual thinking in this totally impractical activity. As with all visual thinking, absolutely no artistic talent required.

This event is hosted and sponsored by Sapient Government Services.

We have an attendance limit of 40 for this event, so if you are planning to come, make sure you RSVP. If we get more than 40, I'll start wait-listing people.

We're going to have folks drawing and folks guessing what those drawings mean. If you know in advance that you want to take a turn with the marker in your hand, drop me a line before 5 pm on Wednesday: dwillis@sapient.com to let me know. Thanks!

Thanks Dan and all who "attended" (that sounds way too passive) for welcoming us displaced westcoast canadians to this splendid event. I haven't had so much fun learning since ... fingerpaint. We're looking forward to retailing this approach with our UX/IA team. You guys are brilliant. And the pizza sure didn't suck. God bless America. Ping us if you happen to be out our way.
