IxDA DC :: UX, IA, & Interaction Design Community

Brian V and I had a good discussion over coffee this morning and are moving forward with the idea of a UX Book Club/Discussion group. We are thinking of fixing the first book selection this week and gauging people's interest in such a thing.

If this is something you might be interested in, add a comment or email me.

Like I said over coffee, I am totally into this idea.

A follow-up on finding meeting space:
Arlington Country libraries has a few large meeting rooms that you can reserve for "anything you want, as long as it is open to the public" (she then quickly said "well, not ANYTHING"). You can book up to 2 months out.
More on meeting space
Meeting guidelines (basically, it has to be free and you have to allow anyone to attend - of course, that doesn't mean you have to advertise to the general public)

Is there any discussion about which books we'll discuss next? Perhaps a little poll somewhere?

Steve,

If you could look into what it takes to add one of those polls to this ning site, that would be awesome.

Steve,
Central Library 2nd Floor Meeting Room looks really good - can you call them and see about filling out an application and we can think about reserving space there?
